The Arab Center for Alternative Planning (ACAP) alerted 25 Arab towns belonging to different regional councils in the country that the Ministry of Interior announced the appointment of a committee to investigate jurisdiction boundaries of towns with regional councils in the country.

The Arab towns that are affected and interested in such an investigation committee include:  Taiybe Al-Zu'beya, Tamra Al-Zu'beya, Almguibel, Sandala, and Al-Na'ora, belonging in the Gilboa regional council; Eitan, Khawaled, and Ras Ali belonging to the Zevulun Regional Council; Eid Hod belonging to Hof HaCarmiel Regional Council;  A'ramshe and Sheikh Danon belonging to Matay Asher Regional Council; Ein Takweye and Ein Raka belonging to Matay Yahooda Regional Council; Um Al Kataf, Arian, and Maysar belonging to the Regional Council Mancheeh; Ein Al-Asad belonging to Merom HaGalil Regional Council; Al-Dameda, Alhasateya, Ras Al Ein, Salama, and Arab Al Naem belonging to Misgav Regional Council; and Matsheya, Zeda, and Al Sawa'aed of Emek Yizrael Regional Council.

The Director General of the Ministry of Interior has issued a declaration according to item 228 of ordered local councils (regional councils) which authorizes the Minister of Interior to appoint a committee to investigate approved boundaries and borders between towns within the same regional council, as well as the boundaries of industrial zones.

The Arab Center for Alternative Planning found it difficult to communicate with all the affected towns, due to their belonging in a regional council.  As a result, ACAP tried to reach representatives from the local public committees in each town, through the media and press, to raise their awareness regarding this investigation committee.  ACAP warned the towns to follow up with the investigation committee and not to make adjustments to the boundaries  that will hinder the town's future development.  ACAP also called upon the representatives of the towns to submit any objections or requests to expand the town's boundaries by August 10, 2012.

The Arab Center for Alternative Planning expressed great willingness to accompany and provide professional advice to all the towns in this area and called on the representatives of these towns to contact the center for assistance.
