In recent years, The Arab Center for Alternative Planning (ACAP) has been monitoring Israeli invasive plans in Palestinian neighborhoods in the vicinity of the Old City of East Jerusalem. It followed various plans promoted by the Jerusalem Municipality, government ministries, and settlers’ associations, which aim to change the reality in East Jerusalem and impose Israeli sovereignty in the city.

To discuss the topic and present the latest findings, ACAP, with the support of the Heinrich Boell Foundation – Palestine and Jordan, held an online event titled:

“Planning in East Jerusalem: Consolidating the Occupation and Violating International Law”

The event featured a discussion panel on recent and current Israeli plans and projects in the old city Basin that serve to change the physical and cultural characteristics of East Jerusalem, obfuscate the border between East and West Jerusalem, and further marginalize the Palestinian Jerusalemite community.

The event was held online via Zoom on October 1, 2024, from 10:00 until 12:00.
